Hey, I’m Leah!

Driving to get takeout dinner of fresh fish from the Fisherman’s Co-op at the wharf in my hometown is what made being a kid on the Jersey Shore memorable. Growing up where there’s multiple clam bakes and a weekend-long festival to celebrate freshly caught seafood every single year. Literally, there is a Seafood Festival the third weekend of every September. Fresh seafood has always been the taste of home, now living in the Pacific Northwest, I’ve spent the last decade searching for the best regional seafood shops. The Puget Sound has a lot to offer, famously it’s Dungeness Crab, Halibut, and Oysters and Salmon. Endless hours of hard work goes into the fishing and aquaculture industries, from the research & planning to the shores where the fish and shellfish species are carefully tended to by private companies, marine conservation non-profits, local tribes and the State of Washington. What lands on our plates is the direct result of decades of hard work to preserve, maintain and restore regional marine and aquatic ecosystems. By seeing what the PNW has to offer in the form fish and chips, I’m sharing my mission to invite people to connect to the Salish Sea by celebrating good food, and good company while raising awareness about our impact on the environment, helping the Puget Sound to thrive. And you’re invited to join!
